A check in U.S. dollars as a wedding gift to a German couple living in Munich?
It is an American Express gift check in U.S. U.S. a good wedding gift for a German couple living in Germany? I am a childhood friend of the bride and 100% of America that has never been to Germany. They sent me an invitation, and although I'm not going, I would send money because I know everyone appreciates more money than anything else! Is it easy to spend a Gift American Express in U.S. dollars in Germany? That the partner is able to use the check for Internet shopping, restaurants, etc? Are you able to cash in a bank if they want? If so, you lose a large percentage of the money conversion rates? Thank you very much for your time and any related information or suggestions.
I do not think there is any problem with an American Express gift check. I am also 100% American, but spent my last year of University studying in London. My parents sent me AMEX gift checks several times and charged me right at the AMEX office. His friends probably get the cash euro. I'm too old to know if I could use the check for Internet purchases, etc. (I went to college before they invented the Internet), but I'm sure that the cash would be appreciated no matter what.
