Secrets of raising a child in common, rather than
A couple approached me after a presentation of recent Parent responsibilities asking my opinion in contact with children and meals.
They seem to have different approaches.
One parent focused on food and deals Children of the quantities of food. The other focuses on behavior and was concerned about the quality of social interactions that meals are provided.
From my point of view, the meals are more than technical stop for food. They offer a great opportunity for members family to talk, while funds have their origin at the chairs. Therefore, the TV must be turned off during meals. (See More information about food and my approach to food)
During our brief conversation, it seemed that both parents met each other views, it was fantastic. But it is clear that there were differences in their approach to parenting that may not have been evident before the cat.
The differences in the approaches of the natural parents, which reflects past parenting experiences, differences between the sexes and the experience of children.
Differences are healthy, a sign of independent thinking, and can provide a sense of balance in family life.
Different approaches, but can cause discomfort, stress and anxiety one or both parents, especially when levels of communication and empathy are below.
In some cases, differences can lead to inconsistent parents when there is no agreement on the rules and standards of behavior and inconsistent results when children misbehave.
Parents who must work together to know when to compromise, when to walk away and when to present a united front. Know when to take each practice approach and depends on what the problems, their parents and their individual values. (See More info)
The 3 levels of raising a child together
Get on the same page as your partner has a job. It can be done if you and your couple living together or not.
There are three levels of partnership working together:
Level 1 - Address: This is the day to day breeding level focuses on aspects such as rules of conduct, child health, education and supervision. Usually one parent (mainly mothers) is the boat primary matrix, while the other takes a back seat as the father of high school (DADS, mainly). School parents in general, follows the example of the matrix primary. Level 1 focuses on what should be done to raise children.
Level 2 - Education of the child: It is about delicate, since it covers the approaches to the conduct of young people, how to build confidence in the children's parents to put in motion the processes of communication and how children treat others. My conversation with the young couple I mentioned earlier was around this level. Level 2 is essentially the same how they raised their children.
Level 3 - Values and Attitudes: This is a big picture level. He looks at the basics you value, such as developing independence, responsibility, tolerance, perseverance and respect in children. These are just a few, there are many values and attitudes to develop. It really helps when the partners are on the same wavelength when it comes to things you enjoy. This level refers to Learn why you do what you do as a parent. When you know why the "how" of parenting is made easier.
In my experience, can get away with the differences of the parents when children are young, but becomes a big problem, as children enter adolescence. Some adolescents may be able to drive a wedge between parents who are at different wavelengths. Usually the parents give them the answers they need when it comes out of the difficult as, access to alcohol and relationships.
This Open to start the conversation early parenthood in the life of children. That's why I like it when parents come from a seminar to raise a child together. They hear the same message, and hopefully this will generate conversations sound their children and parents. These conversations usually start to level 2 questions (how do things), but involve issues of Level 3 (Why what do you do).
Conversations are more fundamental why, leading to a better understanding of the place where the other person comes to board and the probability of presenting a united front for children. And get on the same page as your partner is always in the best interest of their children.
The funny is that most parents are so busy talking about problems of level 1 (you) rarely significantly in the level of 3 numbers (why do things), that is the absolute value of what you do, unless you sit down and do it intentionally. Educating parents is an opportunity for conversation you get what you get and your partner on the same page as parents.
