How much is too much? Every time we've helped my son and his wife, never seems to be appreciated. He was given the sofa when we could have used, but they had to hire his own and was reposessed. They turned around and gave another person's couch! We gave them a refrigerator it was better than ours, he left his apartment and let the owner, almost new kitchen as well. Every time I gave them things that would get rid of it. I could never hang of things and finally made the gift. Not once were to send a Mother's Day or Father's birthday cards, Christmas cards have been hit and miss. One year alone we had ever seen a Christmas present. Not that we supported, but a contact card, or even would be good if they had mail! Now there is no contact at all unless they need money! They do not want to work or lose jobs. Their children or grandchildren to do that? Have we gone too? My daughter is quite the opposite!
my sister was like that for me. We are complete opposites, but when I was younger I was treated like shit and I felt as if he did never cared about anything except what we could do for her. seemed not to believe it was another person or even considered inportante feelings is because everything was around. He gave me a lot of items and pay the bills when he lost his job and we were evicted and all sorts of things. Finally, it becomes a better person but still hit or miss. depends on their mood. I do not think you can take it personally. I think some people live in your little world and not just treat others. I do not think you should give more, its all go unnoticed. nothing in the end it does, or does not seem to make a difference, right? thats what I had to do .....

With the publication of his first book of poems, The Weary Blues, in 1926, Langston Hughes electrified readers and launched a renaissance in black writing in America. The poems Hughes wrote celebrated the experience of invisible men and women: of slaves who "rushed the boots of Washington"; of musicians on Lenox Avenue; of the poor and the lovesick; of losers in "the raffle of night." They c...
