Is it against australian law to sell raffle tickets for the purpose of helping my family?
Im a single mum of 2 young children. I dont make much money and am finding it hard to afford anything beyond general living expenses. I had an idea that i could make up a few gift baskets and sell raffles tickets and use the profits to buy chrissy presents for my kids.
I just wanted to make sure that this isnt illegal? Im in South Australia.
Chook raffles were pretty common decades ago. A guy would come into a pub with a frozen chook or meat tray and sell tickets to everyone in the pub, pull out the winner give the prize, and do the same thing to the next pub down the road.
Another $ idea you may try without disappearing into pubs at night is make stencils to spray paint house numbers on curbs.

Ice cream cone birthday supplies and ideas? Invitation wording?
I am planning on a 'ice cream' themed 1st b-day party for my daughter. I have searched and have found no plates, napkins etc. I am planning on doing ice cream cone cupcakes for the guests but haven't really came up w/ any other ideas?! I would also like to use some cute 'ice cream' related wording for the invites...ANY IDEAS?

You can do the plates and dishes in the colors of ice cream, like pink, brown, and white. Then follow those colors in the balloons, streamers, cups, and flatware. You can also just go with pink and white like a sweet shop.
You can do an ice cream bar and go to the dollar store and get those tall plastic sundae glasses and get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream (like the decoration colors) and toppings. Sprinkles, whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate syrup and have your guests make their own sundaes.
