MIL is being passive-aggressive / try to make statements of "gifts"?

The husband and I received a book entitled "Despite Living on less than you think for Christmas MIL ... We are in our forty years, and not only began, of course. Husband did a very good salary and has saved an amount considerable retirement in recent years, his mother knows. MIL thinks the world is too material life and very modest (by design) in a rural area pissed area.I has been isolated "free", but says ... Husband a few years ago I lived far from the stress at work and at the same time, working on completing an advanced degree in my field. And now, I received a book its "Women who think too much" (My husband had mentioned that I was living with stress at work but did not elaborate. Stress was not affected our marriage that we get along and help each other through things like that). Although not think too much, I found totally unsuitable for sending me this book. Do these gifts seem passive-aggressive?

I honestly think she is really trying to give deep books in the right direction. If it does anything else in life to be portrayed as passive-aggressive, attributing it to his not knowing better than the devil you irritated.
