From rockabilly to Burlesque - a History of Lingerie

Pinup burlesque fashions are everywhere on the Internet. The first designs with burlesque off-color shades have been reborn. Almost every town now hosts a regular burlesque event, where artists and the public also gets to dress the part.

Origins of burlesque - in my underwear show!

The word burlesque probably derived from the French, describing a work of art a little shocking, funny. In the 1840s the term originally applied to burlesque shows for middle or lower classes. This shows satirized subtleties of the upper class and upper class parodying performances such as opera and dance. That music and comedy and drama grew in popularity on both sides of the Atlantic during the nineteenth century. In the Victorian England, where even "a hint of the burden was seen as scandalous," burlesque challenged his audience, offering something more to do a "population" - Attracting young people who appear in tights and underwear! Burlesque lingerie fashion

The mainstay of this style is modern and burlesque lingerie typically concentrated in the fifties and to a lesser degree of the forties look. This extends not only to clothing, but the hats, shoes and makeup too. They have always been fans of the fifties silk and nylon stockings.
