Why almost 70% of the world's countries have a star / sun on its flag?

Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Christmas Island, Comoros, Cook Islands, Cuba, Djibouti, Ethiopia, European Union, Ghana, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guinea-Bissua ... The list goes on and I only have the letter 'G'! .. What is the reason behind this symbolism? People wanted to express his desire to reach the stars or somehin else? Moreover, the fact that most countries that have this specification are Asians and Africans came to my attention. Do you have something to do with religion ..
