Christmas In Germany For Kids

A question about mobile phones in the U.S.?
One of my American friends told me to also be charged for emergency 911 calls when you are using a cell phone in the U.S. Is this true, I can not believe this??? In fact, I'm from Germany and emergency calls (110 or 112 for police fire and ambulances) are absolutely free from any phone (cell phone public or private) in this country. It is my American friend a joke to me or is it really true? A Merry Christmas and a good New Year everyone!
he could be confused about the 911 tax bills phone that are like 50 cents a month, but its free to call from any phone ....
